House of Commons Business for October 4

Projected House business for Tuesday, Oct. 4 (subject to change):

  • A motion on the government’s decision to ratify the Paris Agreement, may continue debate;
  • A recorded division will be held on Bill C-22, An Act to establish the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians and to make consequential amendments to certain Acts;
  • A recorded division will be held on an NDP opposition motion put forward by Hélène Laverdière that a committee be created to oversee all current and future Canadian arms exports;
  • Bill C-231, Fight Against Food Waste Act, may continue to be debated at second reading.

Projected Committee meetings for Tuesday, Oct. 4

  • The Transport committee will begin their study on the Navigation Protection Act. Transport Minister Marc Garneau (Notre-Dame-de-Grâce-Westmount, Que.) will appear before the committee.
  • The Human Resources committee will begin their study on Poverty Reduction Strategies. Families, Children and Social Development Minister Jean-Yves Duclos (Québec, Que.) will make an appearance before the committee.
  • The Immigration and Citizenship committee will meet to study Family Reunification. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Minister John McCallum (Markham-Thornhill, Ont.) will appear before the committee.
